GETTING WE DISCOUNT Q? How to get WE discount?
A: WE card and discount are free.
Please fill WE Membership Form (http://www.worldelites.org/we/WE_form.doc ) and mail to (we@ibces.com). You will normally receive the discount coupon next day. Current WE members can email we@ibces.com (with name and WE card number) to request a new discount coupon.

Q? Do we need to pay WE to join or to get the discount coupon? How do WE support its operation?
A: WE do not charge fee to join. The WE discount coupon is also fee to WE members. WE charge fee from the apartments to cover our operation cost.
For the students/scholars, WE is a free resource providing housing information and discount. At the same time, WE provide sponsorship to major international/graduate student organization and help their fund-raising.
Q? Which universities/cities do WE have apartment discount?
A: WE discount programs are growing every year. Normally, the WE discount is between 10~20% discount off the apartments’ public market rent rate. By May 2010, WE have 19 apartment discount programs at 11 universities in AL, CA, FL, IL, IN, KS, MI, OK, and TX. The latest list of WE discount program is at: http://www.worldelites.org/
Q? Who are WE members? Can I get the free WE membership?
A: WE are a community for thousands of international students and graduate/research scholars. Currently, approximately 90% of WE members are international students and visiting scholars (many of them from Indian, China, Korea, etc). The other WE members are mostly graduate students and researcher at different universities/organizations. If you are interested in getting a free WE card and enjoy the WE member only discount, please email fill the WE form and email us.
Q: Do WE provide services beside apartment discount?
A: In USA, WE also work with many student organizations holding events and parties. We also answer questions for thousands of new international students and scholars.

Q? How to sign a lease with WE discount?
A: You can visit your rental office with a print-out of your WE discount coupon. New students can apply by email. You can click “Get Discount” button on this information page on WE website to see detail instruction.
Q: Is the apartment individually per bed, or jointly for the whole unit? What facilities do apartments provide?
A: The apartment is individually per bed and is furnished. You need to pay for your own bedroom. You can find roommates by yourself or ask the rental office for roommate matching. We suggest you find at least one roommate yourself.
The apartment has 3-floor buildings. Parking is free. There are swimming pool, fitness centre, computer lab and game room, etc
Q? What does the rent covers? What do I need to pay?
A: Furniture, Internet, cable TV, free parking, water/sewer, trash removal, bus pass. Tenants pay gas and electricity
Q? Where is the apartment? How is the neighborhood and convenience?
A: The apartment address is: 4300 Collegiate Way, Mount Pleasant, MI 48858; 1 mile east of CMU campus. 5 minutes bus ride from CMU campus.
More than 3000 students live in this apartment and other nearby apartments: The Village at Bluegrass, Copper Beech, University Meadows, Union Square, etc. This area have free buses and very convenient.
Q? Is the apartment furnished? What is the furniture in my room and in the unit?
A: Yes, the apartment is furnished and you have your own bathroom. In your bedroom, there are full-size Mattress, end table, dresser, chair and desk. In the unit, there are sofa, coffee table, TV stand, dining table, dining chairs, full-size washer &dryer, full-sized refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and dishwasher, etc.
Q? Does the apartment provide Internet and TV signal? Do I have study desk/chair? Do I need to pay for parking?
A: Your rent includes Internet and TV signal, free parking.
You have study desk and chair in your bedroom.
Q? I am in another city/country. Can I sign lease earlier and move in upon my arrival?
A: You can apply by email/online. You can sign lease early so that you can move-in upon your arrival. See detail by clicking “Get Discount” button on this apartment information page on WE website.
Q? I am currently living at this apartment without WE discount. Can I get the WE discount if I renew for next leasing year.
A: If you singed the previous lease with WE discount, then you can also get WE discount in your renewal. If you did not sign lease with WE discount, you may get partial WE discount in your renewal. This is totally determined by the apartment office.
ABOUT LOCATION/TRANSPORTATION
Q? Is this apartment near campus? Can I walk to university campus?
A: It is 1 mile east of MSU campus, and on Bluegrass bus route. The bus is free, and it is only 5 minutes bus ride to campus. If you walk, it takes 15~20 minutes to campus.
Q? Which bus passes this apartment? How frequent does it run in daytime, evening, and weekend?
A: The city bus Broomfield (2-B) route runs every 30 minutes Mon-Fri. It is 5 minutes bus ride from apartment to campus.
CMU bus Schedule and Map Q? Which colleges are located or near this bus route?
A: The Broomfield 2-B bus runs on Collegiate, Broomfield, and Campus Dr. It is easy to go to many colleges/buildings: library, university center, College of Engineering, Education, Music, Business, etc. Q? Will the bus stops due to bad weather (heave snow/storm, etc)?
A: It will for the safety of passengers and bus facilities. But it rarely happens.
Q? How to go shopping from this apartment? Where can I go?
A: You can ride buses to Wal-Mart (1 mile away), Kroger, and Meijer or other supermarkets.
Q? Is it safe inside and outside the community? How far is the bus stop from the apartment?
A: It is safe living at the apartments. But please be cautious all the time and always lock all doors and windows. |
